Overview
 LPGA-USGA Girls Golf provides an opportunity for girls, ages 7 to 17, to learn
to play golf, build lasting friendships and experience competition in a fun, supportive
environment, preparing them for a lifetime of enjoyment with the game. Girls are
learning values inherent to the game of golf, such as practice, respect, perseverance,
and honesty, preparing them to meet
challenges of today's world with confidence.

 Bell honored with inaugural Sherry G. Lumpkin Founders Award
Past United States Golf Association (USGA) president Judy Bell has been named the recipient of the inaugural Sherry G. Lumpkin Founders Award. The award is named in honor of Sherry Lumpkin, mother to LPGA-USGA Girls Golf founder and renowned golf teacher Sandy LaBauve.
"I am honored to present the Sherry G. Lumpkin Founders Award to Judy Bell," said LaBauve, pointing out that Bell initiated the USGA's support of the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program in the early 1990s. "Sherry and Judy share the same passion for bringing young girls into the game through fun, camaraderie and teaching life skills. Girls all over the country are thankful for her contributions.  LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Texas Challenge
The 3rd annual LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Texas Challenge was recently held at The Golf Club of Castle Hills in Lewisville, TX. Forty-eight girls from five Texas LPGA-USGA Girls Golf sites competed in a 9-hole competition. The sites represented were Houston, Dallas, Austin, Corpus Christi and Longview. More>>
 EWGA Foundation continues to support LPGA-USGA Girls Golf
The Executive Women's Golf Association continued its longtime support of LPGA-USGA Girls Golf (Girls Golf) at the 2010 EWGA Golfpalooza Conference in Pinehurst, N.C. EWGA Foundation Board President Margaret Downey presented a check in the amount of $35,000.00 to Carol Corcoran, Chief Administrative Officer of the LPGA, for the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program. More>>
LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Helps Lay Foundation For Future

of the
learning opportunities in golf when they
were juniors,
but also used what they learned to
springboard their
respective career pursuits in

Program Administration
 LPGA-USGA Girls Golf sites are coordinated
by site directors who are LPGA or PGA professionals, USGA members, Girl Scout
leaders, Hook A Kid On Golf directors, Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA)
members, volunteers, moms, dads or members of local golf associations. Each
program also has two boards: an adult advisory board, consisting of parents
and others from the community who support girls' golf; and a junior advisory
board, consisting of five girls from the different levels who assist in event
planning, preparing the newsletter and provide feedback on programs.
Individual programs cover the costs for course access, fees, snacks, special
events, instruction and miscellaneous expenses through fund raising, membership
dues and event fees, as well as donations from the community.
Quality Instruction
Girls Golf provides a solid foundation for
girls who want to play for fun with friends and family, to compete at the high
school, college, and/or local, state, and national levels or to learn for future
career purposes, both inside and outside the golf industry.
The program offers a five-level progressive learning
system on the course, starting from the green and moving back to the tee. Participants
are divided into five levels. All levels include golf instruction and rules
geared to the girls' skill level.
Many Girls Golf programs have year-round activities, meeting monthly during
the school year and weekly during the summer months, providing the consistency
necessary for a successful learning experience.

The only national initiative of its kind, LPGA-USGA Girls Golf is organized
as a partnership between the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), the
world's longest-running women's professional sports association, and the United
States Golf Association (USGA), the national governing body of golf. The LPGA and the USGA are non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.
The LPGA and the USGA are committed to further promote the growth and the
future of girls' golf in the United States.
